Jay graduated from the University of Michigan in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Prior to joining AnchorPointe, Jay worked in the tax department at Rehmann, a regional CPA firm headquartered in Troy, Michigan through 2015, when he left to become an associate at Muchortow & Associates. Jay is also currently a co-owner of Muchortow + Paperd Advisors, LLC, a tax and accounting firm in Rochester, Michigan.
Jay utilizes his tax knowledge to ensure clients understand the tax implications of their investment and financial decisions. He enjoys the ability to work closely with clients so that he can understand their long-term goals and objectives and can then provide them with a customized financial plan that serves as a blueprint to achieve those dreams.
Outside of the office, you can find Jay chasing around his five kids, spending time with his wife of 15 years or coaching the varsity girls’ basketball team at Utica High School. Also a sports fan and golfer, you may find him out on the golf course with the “boss” discussing a range of topics, but most likely he will be at home almost finishing one of the numerous projects on his ever growing “Honey Do” list (key work, almost – he always just needs a couple more days).
